Climate
- Turkey has a Mediterranean temperate climate, with hot, dry summers and mild and rainy winters, though conditions can be much colder in central and eastern parts.
- Mountains close to the coast prevent Mediterranean influences from extending inland in the south and north.
- April, May, October & November generally have more rain whereas June, July and August are dry and hot.
- Annual precipitation averages about 400 mm (15 in), with actual amounts determined by elevation.
